- Measure relative player skill (Elo, TrueSkill)

TL;DR: add a player rating/ranking system like Elo or TrueSkill in addition to NemePoints

It strikes me that the NemeStats system would lend itself well to estimating gamer skill via some system like Elo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system) or TrueSkill (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueSkill )

I assume some familiarity with Elo, -- it is quite old traditional for chess, but it's not well suited for multiplayer games. TrueSkill basically does the same thing but is designed for multiplayer and team games as the boardgames recorded here tend to be.

The application of a rating system should be straightforward within any one game and it would be interesting to see for sure.

That's the basic level for this idea.
---------------------------

To go a little further, it would be very cool to adapt that system to a "cross-game skill level" which would be complementary to the per-game "skill" measurement.

At its simplest, one could assume that all games are equal and apply the TrueSkill system across all games played. I'm sure this has some major flaws, though: A player who wins 90% of a wide variety of games, is likely to be better than someone who wins 50% of a variety of games. But someone who wins 100% of the time at a single game, is probably just not challenging themselves and not giving a good measure of actual skill.

So I think some further development might be in order to design a system which corrects for this, though there are several possible ways this could go so I'll leave it at that for now.
